Michael Salach is a result’s oriented Executive who has a unique blend of entrepreneurial,
business development, operational and human resource skills. He is particularly adept at leading
multi-national, SML and franchises through complex change due to emerging markets, mergers &
acquisitions, joint ventures or consolidations. His expert knowledge and understanding of business
& market life cycles has allowed him to re-engineer the competencies and structure of organizations
to satisfy the demands of the market and customers while formulating business & technical strategies
and aligning company resources to achieve the performance goals of the organization.
His experience includes Fortune 500 multi-national corporations, start-ups and turn-around
businesses including such companies as Daimler-Benz, Schneider Electric, Raytheon, AGFA, The US
Treasury Department, Renaissance Design, Hexel Corporation, FranNet and The Franchise Company.
In addition, his direct experience in strategic & business planning, marketing, sales, new product
introduction, program management, quality, human resources planning, change management
and mergers & acquisitions has allowed him to bring a practical approach to assisting companies
improve productivity, generate profitability and increase the total value of the enterprise.
As President of early stage businesses, he has formed strategic alliances, raised investment
capital, restructured and aligned infrastructure to position the companies for growth or acquisition.
The combination of both corporate experience, coupled with his personal acquisition of three (3)
businesses has also provided him with a breath of practical experience that has qualified him to
assist executives and business owners evaluate the competitive and financial strength of their
businesses, formulate business strategies and execute plans that have directly translated to
increased value and profitability.
In 2001 Michael founded The Bay State Consulting Group, Inc. His company provides an array
of management consulting , executive leadership & coaching and business consulting services
including M&A integration (pre and post), strategic & business planning, product portfolio
management, cash management, organization design & development, structural alignment,
process design and re-design, resource alignment, staffing & management assessments, sales
channel development & CRM strategies, sales training and coaching. The Bay State Consulting
Group has also assisted privately held businesses convert to franchise opportunities - as part of a
growth strategy.
These services target start up’s, early stage, as well as, SML privately held companies and
franchises in a variety of industries. Related industry experience includes automation, electronics,
defense electronics, robotics, engineering service, retail & retail leasing, consumer electronics,
telecommunications, construction and franchising.
Michael is also an instructor at the University of Massachusetts – Lowell and Northern Essex
Community College and the SBDC where he teaches marketing and sales, strategic & business
planning, organizational design & franchising and a variety of entrepreneurial seminars. Michael
also runs The Presidents Roundtable and holds a BS in Finance and an MBA in Management.
